Many species of the eucalyptus are referred to as gum trees.  They're known for their fast growth and oil that can be used for cleaning or as a natural insecticide. 

People who live in a region where eucalyptus is prevalent have used the firewood for years and have not had any issues. They love it!  If you're concerned about the wood creating too much heat, mix the eucalyptus with other firewood varieties. 

We have seasoned our eucalyptus for 2 years giving you the best experience. You will not come across a hotter burning wood than Eucalyptus. If you're considering using just Euc., you might want to make sure this is for you because it burns very hot. All your fire equipment (wood stove, flu, chimney, etc.) must be in excellent condition or there could be problems. In our humble opinion, there's not a better firewood for a campsite to be found, on the west coast.
